Once upon a time...
Craig Dickson and Rachael Jamison started running (and dreaming) together in the summer of 2009. It was on one of these runs that Guerilla Running was born. Our mission is to organize 'different and bizarre' (as one of our friends said) races, support and encourage the broadening of the running community in Olympia and beyond, and give back to our community by donating portions of event profits to local organizations doing great work in our region.
It didn't take long for folks to 'catch on' to Guerilla Running and our idea blossomed to include race timing (Guerilla Race Timing), personal coaching (Open Roads Training), and writing (Guerilla Guide: Running in the Pacific Northwest). Our local running store, South Sound Running, got on board with our vision and has generously contributed to our efforts (donating prizes, equipment, time, and more).
We truly believe that running provides people with opportunities to reinvent themselves, to see themselves in new and empowered lights. This new sense of ability and strength is sure to be carried into other parts of peoples lives. We believe that running can change the world for the better by showing individuals that they can achieve beyond their wildest dreams of themselves.
Guerilla Running offers running races, workshops, training camps, multi-day running adventures, boot camps and more. Stay tuned... be a part of the running revolution. We are changing the world, one run at a time!
